Next-generation Quad-Core and 6-Core Intel Xeon “Westmere” processors
Intel’s most advanced 32nm process technology, “Westmere”.

Inside the Mac Pro are four direct-attach cable-free drive bays.
RAID card is available for the new Mac Pro
These are next-generation Intel Xeon processors are available in both Quad-Core or 6-core variations.
The processor speeds are up to 3.33GHz, and a larger 12MB of fully-shared L3 cache is accessible by all of the processor cores.
Like “Nehalem”, “Westmere” features Turbo Boost for dynamically increasing the processor speed when all cores aren’t in use, and Hyper-Threading which allows two threads to run simultaneously on each core.
And now you can configure a new Mac Pro with two 6-core processors for the first-ever 12-core Mac Pro.
The new Mac Pro features a high-performance workstation system architecture with an integrated memory controller on each processor.
The new Mac Pro features all-new high-performance graphics that are the fastest and most powerful Mac graphics ever.
Perfect for motion graphics, 3D modeling, rendering, or animation, the ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB of GDDR5 memory comes standard
It not only provides faster performance compared to previous Mac Pro standard graphics cards — it’s also faster than the top-of-the-line graphics cards in the previous generation.
For even more graphics horsepower, upgrade to the ATI Radeon HD 5870 with 1GB of GDDR5 memory.
An ideal choice for the most demanding applications, this card features a wider memory bus and higher-performance GPU, resulting in faster performance compared with the ATI Radeon HD 5770.

An optional hardware RAID card is available for the new Mac Pro.
This brings increased performance and data protection to the internal hard drives of the Mac Pro (not compatible with SSD drives).
The card features easy installation – plug it into slot 4 and it just works. No cables to connect. It automatically takes over controlling the hard drives located in the four internal hard drive bays.

For the largest amount of storage possible, configure a Mac Pro with 1TB or 2TB hard drives for up to 8TB of internal storage.
All four PCI Express slots on the Mac Pro are PCIe 2.0.
Three open, full-length slots and one double-wide graphics slot to keep the high-power graphics cards from covering an adjacent expansion slot.
